Fixed Appliance Meaning:
Fixed appliances are appliances that the patient cannot remove by themselves. Generally, it is composed of three parts: belt ring, bracket and archwire. The belt ring is made of stainless steel sheet and is annular, which is fixed on the retaining tooth with cement, supports the orthodontic arch wire together with the bracket, and plays the role of transmitting the orthodontic force. The buccal side of the ring is generally welded with a buccal tube, which can be inserted into the labial arch, and the first molar is usually selected as the retaining tooth for the adhesive ring.
